Care Home Performances

I am an experienced care home singer, performing in care homes, dementia wards, memory cafes and supportive settings across the East Midlands.

Songs can reach and move residents, can bring back memories and create emotions. Singing and moving to songs are physical activities with benefits to speech, breathing and co-ordination. The cognitive benefits of music and of singing in particular are well documented.

1950s-60s Pop: Songs to sing and dance along to from artists such as Elvis, the Beatles and the Supremes.

Hollywood Musicals: A journey through classic films including Anything Goes, the Sound of Music and Hello Dolly.

Music Hall: A singalong to old pub songs such as Little Brown Jug and the Drunken Sailor (also a St Patrick's Day version of this with Irish pub songs!).

1930s-50s Jazz and Swing: Songs from the Golden Age as performed by Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland and Ella Fitzgerald, such as Fly Me to the Moon, Stormy Weather and Over the Rainbow.

1940s Wartime: American and British wartime classics from artists including Vera Lynn, such as Chattanooga Choo Choo, We'll Meet Again and the White Cliffs of Dover.

Melody at Christmas: A swinging show of Christmas classics, from Santa Baby to White Christmas, including Rudolph and Jingle Bells!
